WHO ARE WE?
Social Storm is a media company dedicated to teaching teens and young adults about financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to empower individuals to create strong foundations for their financial independence, while also working towards decreasing the wealth gap and evening the playing field for more people to achieve financial freedom.
Through a variety of platforms and initiatives, we strive to educate, motivate, and inspire the next generation and people from different backgrounds. Our offerings include:
- Financial Literacy Workshops: We host and collaborate on workshops that cover a wide range of topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and building credit. These workshops provide practical knowledge and skills that are essential for financial success.

Corey Phillips
Corey Phillips is a 22-year-old entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and economic empowerment strategist best known as the founder of Social Storm LLC, a nationally recognized media and education company advancing youth financial literacy and modern economic education.
Through Social Storm, Corey has educated over 3,000 youth and adults nationwide, delivering high-impact workshops, conferences, and civic forums that translate investing, entrepreneurship, and economic systems into practical, actionable frameworks. His work has been recognized by Black Enterprise, MarketWatch, ABC 7 Chicago, and the Chicago Sun-Times for leadership in youth financial empowerment and community-centered wealth building.
Corey partners with schools, nonprofits, corporations, and government institutions — including the City of Chicago and the Office of Illinois State Representative La Shawn K. Ford — to design programs that prepare the next generation for financial independence, entrepreneurship, and the future of work. In 2025, he served as a youth forum moderator alongside Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, leading intergenerational dialogue on economics, education, and opportunity for hundreds of attendees.
Beyond financial literacy, Corey’s work bridges investing, artificial intelligence readiness, leadership development, and systems thinking. His philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: financial education is not just about money — it is about power, responsibility, and long-term freedom.
Through keynote speaking, media platforms, and community programming, Corey is helping build a generation that understands ownership, opportunity, and economic structure — equipping young people not just to survive the economy, but to shape it.
